Cajun Crawfish Boil Seasoning Recipe

Crawfish boil is one of the most popular crawfish recipes in summer month. When cooking the crawdads, you only want to boil about one sack at a time.

Allow to boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. For a moderately spicy batch, we used close to half of the 4.5 lb jar of crawfish boil seasoning. Add the corn and boil for 5 minutes.

Cover and bring to a boil. Fill turkey fryer half full with water. Turn it on and wait for it to boil.

In a small bowl, combine all of the cajun seasoning ingredients and set aside. Add the spice mix and 1 pound of kosher salt to 5 gallons of boiling water for the crab boil. Add crawfish and return mixture to a boil.

Add crawfish boil seasoning (to taste) to boiling water. Bring to a boil over high heat and let cook for 15 minutes. Place water, old bay, fish sauce, lemongrass, lemons, garlic, and ¼ cup of the salt in a large stockpot.

Usually we suggest 1 lb. Fill a four gallon stockpot ⅔ full with water and bring to a boil over high heat. This is enough spice to boil 10 pounds of crawfish.

To the stockpot, add potatoes, garlic, onion, 6 lemon halves, salt and half of the seasoning mix. Turn the heat on high and get the water to a boiling stage. Add the potatoes and boil for 5 minutes (i usually cut my potatoes but traditionally you keep them whole).

Once that water is bubbling, you can add the crawfish. Bring the water back to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. The minute you see steam coming from the lid, begin timing and let it boil for 7 minutes.
